About Me

I was born in Venezuela to an Italian Father and a Colombian mother who both immigrated to the United States legally.  I was raised in Texas, and constantly reminded by my family how fortunate I am to be living in the United States of America.  My parents would tell me if I work and study hard I can be what ever I desire in this great country.  They would always tell me that Americans don't realize how good they have it over here, and that they complain to much.

When I was 17 years of age, I joined the U.S. Marine Corps and served 11 years.  I was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant in 2012.  I deployed 5 times and saw parts of the world I thought I'd never see.  I also realized what my parents were talking about when they said Americans have it good, and don't realize it.

I now have a beautiful wife, and two loving children.  I consider myself to be a patriotic American-American.  Although, If I had to label myself Republican or Democrat, I would say that I am 95% Republican and 5% other.  In taking GOVT 2305, I hope to receive a better understanding of how the US government operates and conducts business.  I want to learn the ins and outs from school board elections to the President of the United States.

Below is the quick down and dirty of my political views:

- Open the Keystone pipeline, and drill for oil here in the United States.
- Welfare reform is a must.
- Gay marriage, I don't care.  Let them get married, it doesn't hurt or affect anyone.
- Free health care, great idea, great intention, but the Democrats are going about it the wrong way.
- STOP giving other countries money for dumb reasons (especially the ones that hate us).
- Enforce ALL immigration laws.
- There is no need to raise taxes on the rich, or anyone for that matter.

Like I said, this was just a quick "down and dirty" view of my political views.  I hope to further elaborate on and discuss these topics in the near future.
